**UPDATE**  Pasco Enforcing Commercial Vehicle/RV/Boat Residential Parking

~~County code and regulation enforcement citations resume, effective immediately~~

PASCO COUNTY, FL 11-23-2020 ----  Pasco County is resuming enforcement of codes and regulations with citations, following a period of relaxed rules for commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles, or boats parked in residential areas during the pandemic.  The grace period earlier this year coincided with Florida’s Safer At Home order in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The return to the use of citations to enforce County codes follows the Florida Supreme Court’s guidelines associated with COVID-19.

Pasco County continues to observe Florida Department of Health and CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of our customers and team members as Code Enforcement officers return to normal operations within the community.

County codes are a critical tool in keeping our communities safe and resilient, and we appreciate your cooperation.

For questions or concerns, please contact Pasco County Customer Service at 727.847.2411.

The LPE Civic Association would like to thank the departing members of the 2018-2020 LPE Independent Special District Board of Supervisors for their service to our community and their ongoing collaboration and support of the Civic Association and our events. The outgoing board members whose terms end on 11-17-2020 are:

Steve Yarbrough, Chair, along with Supervisors: Pam Carr, Keith Crockett, Dave Hipps, and Linda Hutchinson.

Update:  As of 11-19-2020, Governor DeSantis has yet to appoint any Interim Board of Supervisors to the LPE ISD to fill the vacated seats until the Special Election will held on April 13, 2021 to fill the those seats for the remainder of the 2020-2022 Term. Pam Carr was only resident to have filed the Candidate Qualifying paperwork to be voted on in the Nov 2020 General Election.  In order for the Board to do any "new" business there must be a quorum established. At this time only the Governor has the power to fill those vacated seats via Executive Order of appointments.

Thank you to all the volunteers that participated in helping to hand out goodies and treats to the local goblins, ghosts, superheroes, princesses and numerous other wonderfully dressed up residents at our LPECA Annual Trunk 'n Treat held at Lake Saxon Park on Halloween Day.

The LPECA would like to acknowledge and recognize John and Molly Turner for donating their time, the music and their sound system to the LPECA and the Oakes & Associates Insurance for their continued support and sponsorship of our LPECA Events.  All our volunteers sure did add a lot of fun to the event! To all those that volunteered and those that attended thank you and we look forward to seeing you at our future Civic Association events.

During the October LPE ISD meeting,  the ISD Board of Supervisors voted to accept the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections, Brian Corley's option to hold the LPE ISD Special Election on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, as an add on to the scheduled 2021 Municipalities Election Cycle and stated to be at no additional cost to the District.  The other option offered would have been for a specific LPE ISD residents only election on  March 2, 2021,  at an estimated  cost of $4000 to the LPE ISD.

On April 13, 2021, residents of the LPE District will elect from those LPE residents qualifying and wishing to serve the remaining portion of the 2 year regular terms for the Interim Supervisors appointed by Governor DeSantis in November.  Note:  Governor DeSantis will need to appoint the interim ISD Board of  Supervisors  to serve on the board from the General Election in November until the Special Election in April of 2021. This will allow the ISD to legally conduct business by filling the vacated and unfilled positions on the board due to interested candidates missing the qualifying period cutoff date.

Updated November 2020: all gate passes NOT renewed before January 18, 2021, will be turned off on January 18, 2021, per the ISD Board of Supervisors.

The LPE ISD voted and announced at their October Monthly meeting that on January 11, 2021, the ISD will be turning off all resident's gate access cards that have not been recently renewed and that all residents will need to get the NEW decals for their vehicles prior to that date if they plan to utilize the parks.  Contact the LPE ISD District Manager Lynn Hayes with Rizzetta and Company Management for more information.

Reminder that it is the LPE ISD and their management company that controls the LPE Parks and Recreational areas and not the LPE Civic Association.

Why does the LPE ISD need to hold a Special Election?  Because only one individual of the current LPE ISD Board and no new candidates submitted their documentation to the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections office prior to the deadline to be placed on the General Election ballot. Once the current LPE ISD Board member’s terms expire this November, there will not be an official quorum of the board to legally conduct the business of the LPE ISD.  Only Governor DeSantis can fill those empty seats to bridge the gap from the current end of terms until the Special Election.  The LPE Civic Association will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available from the LPE ISD and the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections office.

Our regularly scheduled monthly LPE Civic Association meeting  is being moved from Tuesday, August 25 to Wednesday, August 26 at 7:00 pm at the Kaminski Park Clubhouse.

Facemask coverings are required and social distancing is expected.

We apologize for this date change as we continue to make adjustments and remain flexible with our schedule  due to the current global pandemic and our ability to provide events and updates to the residents.  We continue to do our part to protect those at greatest risk for COVID-19 and therefore we were unable to secure a quorum for the Tuesday night regularly scheduled meeting. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
